Join Pope Leo in Prayer and Fasting on Friday, August 22nd

Pope Leo is appealing to all Catholics to unite in prayer and fasting for peace on Friday, August 22nd, the day the Church celebrates the Queenship of the Blessed Virgin Mary.  "Mary is the Mother of believers here on earth, and is also invoked as Queen of Peace, while our earth continues to be wounded by wars in the Holy Land, in Ukraine, and in many other regions of the world. I invite all the faithful to devote the day of 22 August to fasting and prayer, imploring the Lord to grant us peace and justice, and to dry the tears of those who suffer as a result of the ongoing armed conflicts.
Mary, Queen of Peace, intercede so that people may find the path to peace."
 
Divine Mercy will host two opportunities for communal prayer on Friday:

1. The 8 a.m. Mass at St. Philip the Apostle Church will be followed by the Rosary, led by Cathy Stegich and Bobbie Weiss.
2. You can also participate in the Rosary at Sacred Heart Church at 1 p.m. led by our Magi group, Rita Compton, Claudia Goodrich and Bonnie-Ann Hartwig.
