Metanoia is a Greek word, meaning ‘to think beyond’ or ‘to change one’s mind.’ Metanoia in a spiritual sense means introspection, or an evaluation of one’s values and actions, which often lead to a shift in one’s behavior.
The word metanoia appears over 20 times in the Greek translation of the bible. Each time, it refers to a change of mind, or a change in someone’s way of living. Think about Matthew the tax collector, who becomes Matthew the apostle, or the Samaritan woman at the well, whose entire life is changed after encountering Christ. Metanoia is transformative. It changes how one thinks, acts, and lives. Metanoia is conversion—conversion to God, revealed in Christ. Join us as we explore Metanoia in our own lives beginning Tuesday night, September 16th at 6:30 p.m. in the Fireplace Room in the Parish Offices. If you’ve done ALPHA, this is a great next step! Join us for ALPHA on Tuesday nights at 6:30 p.m. or Wednesday mornings at 9:30 a.m. in the Parish Center. Come explore faith, the big questions in life, make connections and have fun!
And there's a free meal, too! Join us - all are welcome! Join the Divine Mercy Parish Environmental Ministry on Thursday, September 11 for a potluck and discussion about composting. This will be held in the Parish Center; the parish will provide the beverages.
